The UNGA resolution 73/27 (December 2018) decided to establish an open-ended working group (OEWG) acting on a consensus basis to discuss the issue of security in the ICT-environment. The OEWG is chaired by Ambassador Jürg Lauber, Permanent Representative of Switzerland to the UN in New York.

Three sessions are scheduled as follows: in September 2019, in February 2020, and in July 2020.
